The half-awake Zas was instantly woken up.With his eyes half-opened, " I thought we weren't supposed to go out, it's daybreak. I've just fallen asleep." and he dozed off.
"Look, it's drizzling!" said Tiara, shaking him to get up, playfully." Let's go, let's go."
Only then, Zas realised the 'pitter patter' sounds were the rain. He opened his eyes, finally. "Okay, I'm up. Let's go."

"I love the weather! So lovely," said Tiara, feeling the rain with her face facing the sky and her blonde hair blown by the wind softly. She was half walking half jumping on the moist grass. " I like the smell of grass in the rain too! And --ar---ARGH...
"GOTCHA!" exclaimed Zas, as he got hold of her from slipping, split-second. Their eyes met. Red and blue. They felt that something familiar is going on and wondering whether they had really met before.
"Do you mind?" asked Tiara.
"Oh, oh, sorry." said Zas, helping her up.
" Say, you are different. I take it that you are not from around here. Where are you from? Something tells me that you are setting yourself apart from the others, some kinda, special, yeah, that's the word. Why?
Zas chuckled. " Special? I take it as a compliment. It is because of the fact that I'm a 'baby' vampire? " he laughed. " I really do not know. I wish someone could tell me. How about you?"
Tiara laughed. " 'Baby' vampire? I like it! You are funny. Well, I'm a little girl when I just came down here to Phielost. There was this plague and suddenly everybody dropped dead like flies. It was 1884. I was just 20 and was out in the woods plucking some herbs. Herbs which we believe, can eradicate the disease. Then, there was a sharp pain on my leg and the last thing I remembered was I was hyperventilating and felt like I was drowning before I passed out."
"Wow," exclaimed Zas. " Rattlesnake? Spiders?"
"I don't know. Don't care."Tiara said with a laugh.
"How do you by chance, remember what happened before you transformed?"
"I guess I just do. Why, can't you?"replied Tiara.
"No, I can't. Do you know it?" asked Zas, getting a little excited.
"Hmm, let me think," said Tiara, looking to the sky. " I remember we found you in the valley all bruises and very 'dead'ly. By that, I mean a piece of almost dead deadmeat. And I remember Father, Charles, said that you were 'suffering unnecessary pain' and--- yeah, he did say-- 'Totally not your fault'. Can you tell me why?"
"If it is so, where are all the bruises now?"
"When you were bitten, the venom transforms everything, clearing it." said Tiara.
Zas nodded. Out of the blue, he thought he saw himself in human form, his attention was diverted, he was walking with a lady, Helen. They were whispering and teasing each other. "HEY, YOU!" he bellowed, trying to get their attention.
Tiara was a little frightened by him. "Hey, you scared me. Where? wh--"
"LOOK, LOOK, I think I saw me over there and who's that lady?" said Zas, pointing to the left of Tiara.
"Nothing's there, Jed. Okay?Really. I swear." said Tiara, trying to hold the agitated Zas. She then looked right into his eyes, just how Helen did it. " I really think your memory renounces. Come, we need to see Father."
